Man, I just feel like ever since school has started, I no longer have time for much else, other than running the house and making menu's. I am constantly on the go, or planning on what we'll do next. I feel much more motivated this year to be a good teacher, and not a slacker:)
We've been to the co-op classes twice now. I was put w/ the "American Girls" class to be a helper in the first period, and it's been really fun. It's prob'ly the smallest class at only 2 girls, but they are both so sweet and funny. It's nice to be around girls and just soak up their cute lil selves. They've been crafting and sewing and talking about the 1900's, studying Samantha, which was always my fave American girl back in the day:) My 2nd hour is free, so I took some games to laminate and cut out the 1st week, and ran my mouth last week. Think I'll plan on taking my book this week and just chilling. Don't think anyone I know well is on my free hour, so it gives me a chance for some quiet or to meet new friends:) So far, everyone seems pretty cool. There's a couple in the "interesting" category as well-hha. Always will be I think. The 3rd period I'm in w/ Miles' preschool class, which ranges from age 1-5, so can pose "fun"...w/ a couple Criers. It's pretty laid back though. I have them during their most tired hour, but so far the kids do pretty good. Last week we stayed after for lunch .They ordered in pizzas for 6$ a large pizza and I took 2 dozen cupcakes for E's b'day so all the kids sang to him:) He really liked that. I'll hafta plug in my camera and post some pics bc I got some good ones. We stayed for a bit to let the kids run around under the pavilion. Some kids brought their little razor skateboard things and several Moms and kids got a rambunctious game of basketball going. It was funny to watch them. I'm not a b'ball player. We left when Miles started crying over everything out of sheer exhaution:), went home and both kids took a nap. After going to the 1st one and having to struggle thru school all afternoon w/ E practically falling asleep on the table, I decided, NO MORE SCHOOL on co-op days. So I shove 5 days of school into 4 days, doing 1 extra lesson of 1 core each day till we get it done. Makes for a little longer day those 4 days, but we're just so worn out on Thursdays, it's the only way.
School continues to go fairly well. Especially when we start on time and I pray and have a more upbeat attitude. When I rush, I get testy and want him to hurry hurry hurry, and it's never good. Only thing that they do that continually bugs me, is they are so silly and crazy during Bible time, which is our 1st subject. I've tried switching it up and doing singing 1st, then prayer first, and keeping it at a good clip, but I'm always cracking down on them for being so ridiculous during that hour. I know it's prob'ly satan, but it's annoying. But I'm loving the Bible curriculum. I tell you, even I'm getting so much out of it:) It really expounds the Scripture and pulls so much application and character qualities out for the kids. Evan has been really interested and asking lots of questions about how people can be evil and choose to obey the devil and not love God. It just blows his mind! Too funny. I love how curious and analytical he is about it all.
The boys' double b'day party is this Saturday. Course I'm making the cake and cupcakes and stressing a smidge about it. Liz and the girls are coming in Saturday night and we have a lot of yardwork to do before then too, so I hope we can get most of it done before Saturday morning! I hate being rushed. I decided on a Jake and the Neverland Pirates b'day party bc the boys kept saying 90 diff ideas and I saw the stuff at Wally and was like, this is it...ha. I'm glad my kids don't really care! They are so low maintenance about stuff like that. Got some cute lil tumblers and making some goody bags in those. The cake is gonna be epic--a big pirate ship , surrounded by ocean and shark fin cupcakes. I really do enjoy doing the cake. Nothing quite like homemade cake and buttercream frosting! Randall rented the queen mother of all waterslides. It's as long as a fire truck--seriously--36 feet long, so he's gotta measure to see if it'll even fit in the back yard...he is so crazy. He's already invited some guys over to slide on Friday night after the kids are in bed. Yes, I married a 5 yr old. hhhaa. I hope everyone has a good time. I'm not feeling much like entertaining, but more like sitting on my butt and relaxing:)
Not much else is up. Trying to be more organized so I can be more consistent w/ gym going. Most I've made it is 2x a week plus one night of Body Pump. I've been able to keep up w/ my weight at BP, but not so consistent w/ the ole running, so gotta get on that. I have a 5k on the 29th, so I am pushing myself to run 3-4 days a week until then.
Gotta go shower. I stink. Later, taters!
