Yesterday we all loaded up at around 1 to drive to Orlando to see the Ramos clan. We just didn't get to see enough of them w/ the Easter holiday craziness, so we wanted to go and hang and say goodbye one last time. They, along w/ Keith's parents, were staying in a nice condo near Disney and it had a huge community pool area. It was so great. There was a big waterslide, lazy river (that wasn't so lazy), pool, hot tub and shallow kiddie pool area. We all had such a blast. Miles LOVED the water slide, so we had to do that about 50x, and we made so many laps on the lazy river we all got dizzy. It was so good to chill and talk and laugh and hang out. Time was too short, but it'd been 2 years since we'd seen them, well Tab and the kids at least. I'll hafta post pics later bc Keith got them all on his waterproof camera, and a great group shot at the end of the day. It was so awesome to finally meet little Isaiah too, as he was born in Alaska....he was such a sweetie and made me wanna smooch his chubby cheeks the whole time.
After we met up w/ them we got a quick dinner at Chick fil A and let the boys play a bit. Then I noticed Whole Foods was across the street so convinced Randall we def needed to go there:) It was like living on another planet in there!!! It was like a grocery store out of a movie:) ha. I asked for some help and found what I was looking for in the bulk dept...rows and rows of bins w/ scoops w/ all diff kinds of rice, grains, beans, nuts, flours, etc. It was SO cool. Got some quinoa and nutritional yeast there and then perused the aisles just taking in the amazing foods. We all got a little sweet in the bakery...the cakes and cupcakes and tarts were INsane...and was drooling over the build your own salad section. There was even a BAR in there?! I would prob'ly be broke if that store were here. It was really fun. I just bought Family Circle magazine at Wally the other day and it has a whole section of vegetarian food in it, so I'm excited to start trying some hopefully better recipes.
Today was a little crazy. I slept in and didn't get a whole lot of nothing done, so got the kids dressed and we made it to storytime early today for once. They enjoyed that and craft time and met another mom (didn't get her name!) and her 2 boys and found out she homeschooled. Her boys are about a year younger than mine, but she seemed really nice. I still need to call and find out about the HS group in town before this year is out and I'm stuck back at square one for next year. I'd really like to join one, even just to get in on some cool discounted field trips. Randall's friend's wife hs's over in Ocala, and they told him about a PE class every Friday afternoon, so we might check that out. Course M's a lil young, but I know Evan would love it:) Rabbit trail.....my house was a complete disaster today, so after lunch, let the boys play a bit, put M to bed and did school w/ E....felt bad that today was so crazy, but we made it thru. R brought home dinner (Mexican) and I did a load of dishes, steam cleaned the boys' bathroom floor and kitchen floor, so they look much better. The house looks a lot better.
I have 5, maybe 6 clients at work tomorrow. It's funny how I never wanna go to work, even though I work only 2 days a month and like what I do. I just love being home w/ my family these days. Esp this time of year. The weather couldn't be any more perfect and I know if I were home, we'd prob'ly run off and go camping somewhere. We've been checking out Disney and Fort De Soto campgrounds and finding out what's out there. I like the idea of having a pimped out pool and activities for the kids sometimes, even though I do like to be out in nature roughing it too;) There's a lot to offer in FL that we didn't have in ole Kansas;).
I'm still coughing up a lung these days and the boys too...mostly Miles. I'm taking some Robitussin and drinking hot tea w/ local honey almost every night, but am thinking I might need some allergy meds?? I don't have any sneezing, just a deep sounding dry cough and lots of fun stuff coming up--sick. My face hurts too...like sinuses, so have been massaging my face off n on. ugh. I "love" taking the boys places and then they start in w/ the coughing and ppl look at you w/ the evil eye. I took M to the doc and all he gave me was a steroid and told me to give him liquid Benadryl:/ So.......whatev.
Well, best get to bed. My goal was 11 and I'm already almost 30 min past. I did down some caffeine today, sad to say, bc I was dragging so much today, so I guess that's why I'm still going. I've been doing SO good, avoiding it at all costs, so I'm not too mad at myself. I'm really trying to give my cravings over to God...and my consistency, or lack thereof, so I can make some big changes, not only w/ my diet but w/ my house, planning, and household duties. I struggle w/ consistency in a big way, and it makes me tired and overwhelmed. And I struggle w/ waking early;)
well, Nighto.
when you come to Austin someday, i'll take you to the Whole Foods headquarters store downtown. it's huge and even has a playground and trees and such on the roof.
