New Patio

We've had the patio done for a couple weeks now. Randall only had to pay for the pavers and pick them up, and a guy he knows did the work for free. So that translates into us having 2 pallets full of pavers sitting in our side yard for about 2 months killing all our grass before the guy even came to install them. Randall and our 20 yr old nephew Robert helped w/ all the leveling and putting down the limestone. the patio sort of slopes off a bit bc part of the pavers are layed on top of the existing cement pad and then 3/4 of it was on the ground. that way we didn't hafta make stairs down from the main pad to the sidewalk on the east side. it looks fantastic and i love the edging and rounded sidewalks and how beautiful all the diff colored stones look now that it's sealed.  At 1st i was a tad nervous bc when we got the pavers, there was literally every diff color from all the color swatches we looked at. i'm like, wow, i guess they put all the colors in there. i had wanted it to match the house more so was going w/ more grey tans, but ended up getting some more terra cotta shades and dark charcoal. but after R sealed it w/ the wet sealent, wow, it just popped. so i love it. it's so nice to sit out under the umbrella and just watch the boys whiz by on their bikes and scooters. I want to get a nice big cool modern outdoor rug and some new throw pillows. the ones that're there came w/ it, and not really my fave, but better than nothing.
Wish I were out enjoying this more today but it had to stinking rain. Again. But i know we need it so  i can't complain.

So we are loving our new patio. there's still alot i'd love to do out there, but all in due time. we want to get at least 1 or 2 big chocolate colored deck boxes to hold all the toys and prob'ly the cushions for the furniture too. the 2 grey rubbermaid cont's we have for them now are disintegrating and i really just need to go thru the toys and throw alot out. Also, i'd love to start our 1st garden. i don't have a pic on here yet, but between the sidewalk and the house is a nice big area for the size garden we need. thought it'd be cool to do w/ the kids for school. have them help me water, weed, and pick veggies. anywho, love this outdoor space. we are out there daily. we decided we need a big fan bc the furniture sorta sits back in the alcove and there isn't much circulation of air or wind where you sit. we don't even own a fan, how sad is that! ha. well, i'm mainly on here trying to figure out my iPhoto and how to get pics from FB to here since i don't have a camera or any pics on my mac yet. so, just annoying. i'd love to have diff pics on here than fb but will hafta deal for awhile. peace.
