Favorites Friday

Sooo, I'm starting a new blog entry called Favorites Friday. Been looking at some other blogs so thought I'd try to be cool like theirs and start my own. They usually do ten favorites, but I think I'll hafta rack my brain to come up with 5, so that's where I'll start. Five random things that i really love, that make me happy. Could be anything. As much as I can, I will try to post pics of the things I love, so that you as well, can get the full effect as to why I love the given thing:) and, because it's just more fun to look at pictures than to just read long, boring blogs of just words. (which I've been doing an awful lot bc I'm too lazy to post the pics to Picasa.)

So here goes:

#1) Energizing body cleanser, by Aveda.
This stuff is the crud!!! Susie, the front desk manager at work, gave me a tiny sample one day and I fell in love. It smells like peppermint mixed w/ amazingness. It just wakes me up and makes me feel so energized for real. Esp on the mornings I wake up and am not "feelin' it", I use this and just breathe a sigh of relief. It's just great!!! Think I'm gonna get it for some gifts for my friends/family this year! Spread the love<3
Yes, I get this 40% off. Be jealous!

#2) Old Family Photos...esp awkward ones.
I've snagged a few old family pics from my G'ma Katy's old family albums that I just love. Most I've framed in silver old-fashioned looking frames. My favorite ones are the ones that are just funny or awkward. G'ma (Dad's Mom) had a tradition of taking their own family Christmas pics and through the years, they were pretty hilarious. I'd run across ones where she'd taken basically the same exact picture 10x, w/ the camera at different levels, diff expressions on everyone's faces and ppl sitting in various locations. Like musical chairs. They just cracked me up, esp when everyone matched and had their 50's and 60's style hair going on. Or the one with my Dad with his 7th b'day gift...a bike big enough for a grown man. Still not sure how he ever rode that, much less produced JB and I after. hhaa. So funny.
L: Moorman family Christmas pic minus Uncle Keith (not born yet). Love
how it's completely not centered! R: My G'pa Moorman in college studying,
with pic of his then-girlfriend framed on his desk:)

Dad with his 7th B'day present. Hopefully they gave him his 1st cup w/
this too. hhaa.

#3) "Got 2B" Ultra Glued styling gel.
I use this on the boys' hair and it totally rocks. They can swim, take naps, go in the 60mph wind tunnel and their hair is still perfectly spiked!! I had tried like 3 other kinds of gel and none work as good as this stuff. The best thing about it is it's clear gel and it sets pretty much instantly, so no white residue!!
Best gel ever. BOGO free at Walgreens or
CVS all the time. So great!

#4) Artwork painted by my Auntie.
I have a few pieces of art in my house that my Aunt Karen Lee painted. She's been an artist most her life. She is one of the most creative ppl I know and still sends all handmade cards to us in the mail for every B'day, anniversary or major accomplishment. The paintings I have of hers came from my G'ma's house and were the 1st things i requested after she passed away. They just make me think of my G'ma. I have a few cool rustic ones of cabins and such up at the cabin too. They just make me happy:)

This is prob'ly my alltime fave. Love the colors and this was always
next to my G'pa's chair in his living room<3

2nd fave: this was always in G'ma's kitchen and is now in mine. Onions
and such painted on some sort of shiny cardboard w/ a distressed chrome-
looking frame

#5) My kids' artwork.
I really like to keep my kids' artwork about. I think it makes them proud too, to be able to see it. I got an idea from somewhere to put it inside the kitchen cabinets and thought that was genius. So every time I open one up to get plate or some alluminum foil, surprise, there's some artwork (or family/friends pics) to make my day a lil brighter. And, i think it makes the house look a little less cluttered.

This is all E's work from school:)
