Sooooo, yeah. fell asleep like 5 diff times thru "Arthur" tonight on the couch, but it turned out to be a pretty cute/funny movie. Something about saying stupid stuff in a British accent just ups the ante on the funny part. ha.
Had a very laid-back day today. struck me at like 4am this morning that it was library storytime day. So got up and cleaned s'more. Friday is "rest" day as far as 1/2 training goes, so i was already in a nice relaxed mood. Talked on the phone way too much so the kids went from playing lego trains nicely to beatdown mode. Turned on the boob tube for them to chill out to until i got them dressed and hair done. Made them eggs w/ powdered milk today bc i once again forgot to get milk...LAME! tomorrow i have to bc now i'm outta TP too. no making fake tp! so we somehow got out the door and got to story time right as it started and the "kid" was there again. the gigantic 4 yr old named Xander w/ a baby voice who apparently eats 29 powdered donuts before he came w/ his clueless grandma bc all he does he spin around in circles, bump into the wall and say "EXCUSE ME!!! EXCUSE ME!!!! B says FROG!" to every single page Miss Lisa reads the kids. omg. i want to throttle him in 5 seconds flat. well anywho, got there and decided that i'd demurely drop my boys off and go look for books like a real adult, like g'ma and the other moms did last week, so off i went. explored the library for a bit, looked up books on the computer, which were of course all checked out!!! (so tireddddddd of waiting for all my books by cracky!), and asked for help in locating a book in the biography section bc this library is laid out completely diff than mine. i somehow always feel dumb and lost in a library. so i just furrow my brow and walk slowly like i'm thinking about something so it doesn't look like i'm just an idiot. hhaa. so found a book. about someone else who dies in the end. this has GOT to stop. i want to read mindless fiction where everyone falls in love and gets married in the end, like Twilight...boy, do i miss that. i'm sick of crying w/ every book. so i prob'ly won't end up reading it after all. hhhh. anywho, i'm all involved in looking at pics of Beatrix Potter's childhood and life when one of the teachers in w/ the kids comes to retrieve me, saying "yeah, we need you to come back to the room bc your boys are wrestling on the floor and hurting each other". i just gave her "the look", which is prob'ly confusing for her bc i'm sure i looked like a snotty non-nice person (use your imagination on the word), when in reality i'm like, dude, seriously?!?!?! i can't have peace for 15 min w/out my boys wanting to beat each other down or act like idiots in public??? i'm sure Xander bouncing off the walls and yelling out things like a tourette's syndrome person didn't help the sitch. but yeah. i went in and put one kid on either side of me as i sat on the floor w/ them and never heard another peep from them. Miles sat w/ a jutted out bottom lip, tears in his eyes saying "I will be nice" over and over. i'm like, dude, i'm not talking to you.?? meanwhile, they had to go retrieve Xander's g'ma (really she was retrieved 2nd?!?! how did that happen!!!???) bc he was spinning circles so fast his arms hit Evan in the chest or throat or God knows where. i wanted to trip him for real. he is just maddening. so she came in and was getting onto him to no avail. then it became funny to me and the other teachers as well and we kept cracking up. i mean, at some point it just gets ridiculous and you hafta laugh. i wonder what being at their house looks like??? so then the kids did craft time and Evan made his whole trace-your-foot penguin all by himself, w/ cutting and gluing and all. i was so proud. M finally quit the whole pouty routine and participated, to my surprise. then i was able to redeem myself and talk to the teachers, one of whom has 2 boys as well (now 20 and 21) and she understood completely. Told her how they have always pestered each other and how when they're apart they are angels. something to that degree. it was pretty funny. I've been in alot more peaceful mood lately. normally i'd want to cry and run away when my kids make fools of me, but now i'm like, oh well, i tried and it didn't work. ha. course i had to give them a talking to in the car when we left. Miss Lisa, the story teller lady, is very quiet and soft spoken, so i'm sure they don't take her too seriously. and about 99% sure Miles initiated all the brawling as well. E is so good at storytime. dang brothers.
Then went to walgreens and bought some popcorn and pencils, 4 for $1 and 6 for $1 so i could get some cash back. Today was Ash's aunt's fundraiser BBQ lunch, so i drove over to the legion and bought some. they were all outta meat so she sent us w/ our little brownie things and said she'd bring it over later. looks like they had a great turnout so i was really happy for them. Her aunt had a severely broken arm and her ear ripped off, and doesn't have ins. guess the ear didn't "take" so they removed it again and have now put it under her scalp to do something?? and then hopefully put it on later. craziness. she was at Ash's party the other day w/ her arm in a huge sling and her hair down but looked and acted completely normal other than that. guess she had the arm/ear surgery a few days later. she must be crazy tough or on alot of drugs, or both. really commend her family for being there for her and doing so much. very close family. Ash brought the food by later and it was the best tater salad i have ever had. bbq was good too and had baked beans and some cornbread muffins. the boys ate it for dinner and i just ate the tater salad and had a piece of lasagna from last night. good stuff in the neighborhood!!
then let the boys play outside and then did Bible w/ them but then almost fell asleep sitting up bc i was up til nearly 4am last night. so put them both down for a nap today. E has been having meltdowns for the last 2 days so i think he needed it. i laid down w/ him in his new big bed and took an hr nap too!! it was delightful. woke up to the phone ringing and it was Ash saying she was bringing the food over. so then got up and started cleaning the house up. cleaned off the dining room table and put my fall runner and fall leaves and cornucopia out and then hung the halloween dangly things from the chandeliers in the 2 rooms and then put the little window clings on the windows (that's a 1st) and then hung the fugly scarecrow broom on the front door. i need a wreath. the broom needs to go. ha.
R came home late from fishing. Uncle Keith's in town from MI so he took off the whole day and took him and Gary out in the gulf. Caught a few fish and got beat to death by the wind. he smelled like a minnow bucket when he got home. wow!! ate dinner then we all chilled watching Wipeout and laughing so hard, put the kids to bed late and then watched Arthur on the couch where we both passed out.
so, that was my day. nothing too exciting, but a good day. wish i woulda gotten a better book. this is when i actually could go for a Nook or Kindle, one where i could rent library books on it (the nook i think you can??) bc this waiting 2 months for a book on the bestseller list is annoying.
well, might go see mom tomorrow w/ the boys. the men will be out fishing again, and Mom had her vein surgery on her leg on Tues and is pretty jacked up, so no driving for her. Even if she could drive, doesn't look like a great day for the pumpkin patch:/ sposed to rain and thunder storm all day here. so i might jet and go see her and just hang out. might finish up E's day of school and let her observe me. see what she thinks. i need to look up the story of Elisha and Naaman too for E's class on sunday. sposed to teach that and no, it's not in the kid's bible. seems i always get the offbeat Bible story each month. next week is shadrach, meshach and abednigo....that woulda been so much easier! oh well.
later taters. i need sleep!!!
