Well, today seems to be going pretty dandy. I've not been great about starting school on time these days, but I think it's because I'm bucking the system and itching for school to be done, so, I've been being very laid back about things so I don't go crazy! Yesterday we had backwards day and hit up the gym 1st, came home for lunch, let the kids play out on the waterslide in the rain until it started downpouring, put Miles to bed and THEN did school w/ Evan. Usually afternoons don't work out as well for him, but he did awesome, and I was in much better spirits and never got frustrated or loud once! So it was good. I'm trying to be more mindful and eat well in the mornings, juice, and read my Bible and then get going. I think it is helping a lot. I still don't overly care for school in the afternoons bc it seems like I never get a break and then it's time to cook dinner, bed and blahhh.
I have so many great pics I need to upload from my camera, but I just keep putting it off. The pics go w/ my posts, so now everything will be out of order. Oh well.
Today we are almost finished w/ school and then I think we'll hit up the free splash pad at Whispering Pines park. We've not been back since Evan cut his head open at the beginning of last spring, so hopefully it'll go well. I think "no running" will try to be instilled, but I'm not sure they're able to play there w/out running;) The weather has said scattered thunder storms these last 2 days in the afternoons, so it's messing w/ our fun plans to go to the pool. So hopefully we can get some splashing in before we hafta run for cover. I'm just so crazy bored lately and must change things up before I feel like I'm in the movie "groundhog day".... I've been thinking of reaching out to some new ppl, too, to see if we can make some new friends. I don't really have but a couple friends now, and either they have a tiny baby and their boys don't like to swim or splash, or the mom works full time, or the mom is never available.....so, yeah. Just leaves us lacking in the spotaneous get-together-type friends, which I really have been missing.
I'm gonna stop by the post office today and send out some b'day pkg's. Vinny's b'day was Tuesday so his gift and card will be late:(. Not cool. We got him this cool book called The Boy's book of Doodles at B & N and it's full of crazy pictures and stories w/ things missing that he has to draw in:)! I've been eyeing those for some time and I know he's into drawing. Also sent him some colored pencils and Evan drew him a crazy card w/ the big dipper and a lake on it?! ha. We also picked Lily up a Girl's doodle book, but it comes w/ 2 paper dolls and paper houses and every page is filled w/ clothes and accessories you color and cut out. It is so cool. I wanted it for myself, really! Also some colored pencils, girl diva mad libs and a thing of flower power tattoos for some summer fun:) I love buying kids' gifts!
Well, better finish up w/ school....E's doing an oral eval in #'s in a sec. THREE more weeks of school. or maybe TWO if I change my mind! ha.
