Last Day of School (finally)

I'm pretty sure I'm the last person I know to finish up school w/ the kids! Whew! So relieved to finally be done.

 We had another "plan B" type day today, as it was downpouring rain/ thunder/ lightning right when we were s'posed to leave for swim lessons again. I waited around til the last possible moment to leave and even called the pool, to which they said, "yes, they are still on!", left for the pool and got w/in 5 min of it, called again and the 10 and 11 o'clock lessons had been cancelled. Twice this week I've driven 30 min 1 way to go to lessons that were cancelled. One of those moments you just feel very "tired". I nicely talked to the guy in charge and he changed the phone # on my info so that they'd call my cell # from now on, but I'd still prob'ly be 1/2 way there by the time they called. Anywho, just kind of annoying. I've been doing so good about getting up and getting out the door on time and it just wasn't meant to be.

Came home and decided to bust out the last day of school. Did Bible and then the last lesson in Numbers. Almost had a moment there where I welled up w/ tears, but then it was on to reading, phonics and writing. Evan did excellent today, like norm, and was so proud of him. It feels weird not having to do school everyday. I still have 6 lessons left in phonics, so we'll prob'ly do that once a week thru the summer. Shouldn't take more than 30 min or so. I feel relieved, sad, good, proud, blessed, tired....SO many things today. Prob'ly bc just as soon as he got done w/ school he had a major meltdown over me telling him he couldn't have any juice, namely bc he pretty much ordered me to get it for him. I'm tired of the demanding attitude that they've been having lately, not asking politely but just saying things like "I want some JUICE!" or etc. I'm like, dude, where are your flipping manners??!! It just wears me out.

This weather isn't helping my attitude either. W/ almost an entire week w/out the sun, I'm getting crazy. It makes the kids crazy and me lose my mind. The house is crazy. We did go outside and do bubbles and let the kids swim in the baby pool for awhile, as it's dreary now, but no rain for the time being. Storm clouds are visible in the distance.

Well, I'm gonna try to lay down for a nap while they are sleeping. After E had his meltdown, I put him down the same time M went down. I just need a break to recharge. Then I gotta clean up this house.

Work tomorrow. Slammed from 9-3. Hope ppl tip as good as last time;)
