Mullets and Peaches

So, today's been a pretty decent day so far:) Got up and fed the kids some leftover waffles. Got some WW waffle/pancake mix at the store last week on BOGO, and have been trying out the ole waffle maker Mom gave me. Turns out, it's super easy to make and the waffles are insanely good. Noticed some cool lil add-ins you could do on the side of the box, so after coming back from all afternoon on the boat yesterday, whipped up some scrambled eggs and applesauce cinnamon waffles for dinner--SO GOOD! So, gave the kids the leftover waffles for b'fast and had a nice long convo w/ Liz on the phone. Then we headed to swim lessons on a beautiful blue sky, cloudless day. Hot as a mother, but beautiful.

I packed my gym clothes and snacks for us all, so we left from there and went directly to the gym, where I got a pretty killer workout in. I've been going up and down the same 3 lbs for months now, but am on the bottom swing of that, so felt pretty tanned and somewhat non-flabby:) ha. As I was on the eliptical, saw a guy get off the treadmill and he had the full-on permed hair mullet w/ full curly bangs. It kinda took me by surprise, but a happy surprise bc it made me grin:) How do ppl not know that is just NOT in style anymore? And if they have long hair, why do they want the sides short? hhhaaa!

Came home and went to get the mail and saw a huge box of ripe peaches sitting next to my front door!!! Was like, WHAT?! So yeah, my friend Ashlee and her hubb's own a couple fruit stands in the panhandle, and w/ all the rain they got over the weekend, they had a lot of peaches left over. So, gonna cut them up in a few and find my killer cobbler recipe and see if I need anything to make that for later:))

Now I'm weeding thru 2 loads of dishes in the sink--gross--and listening to my nephew mow my grass. This time he's at least here on a sunny day, as last time, he was 4 days late and mowed in the downpouring rain, so i had mowed grass stuck all over my walkways and driveway and it wasn't trimmed. UGH. I hate my yard looking like white trash. So I'm hoping he does a decent job today.

Randall started building the kids a treehouse the other day. It's in our back set of trees and is gonna be about 8x6 and it's 6 feet in the air! I think it'll be really fun for them to have a boy space for them out there. I can imagine them out there having campouts and reading by flashlight.

Yesterday after church we decided last minute to go out on the boat. My friend Tina and I had tentative plans to hang out, so she and her son Ryan came w/ us. It was so fun having friends along. The boys entertained themselves and we just sat and talked and laughed. We saw 2 other sets of our friends out there. Seems we all make it out on Sundays:) so fun to be in the "boat club".

Well, best get back to work. Can't have my house looking like smack all summer;)

  3. We have a starter boat - a canoe. Haha. How close are y'all to the gulf? Do y'all take the boat out often?

  4. ha! we started w/ a canoe too. love canoes. ours is in GA now, and i miss it:/ We are only about 30-40 min from the gulf. In the summer we usually make it out 3-4x a month. Today we went down 2 diff rivers. Not real good for swimmin' around here though bc of the gators. But it was the perfect day!
