Last week when the 1st round of bad weather came thru, we hit up "construction zone" at the library. There were about 10-12 diff areas set up in the room w/ blocks, legos, cups, lincoln logs and the like for the kids to go crazy with. They had a ball. R ended up showing up, so I could go check out some books for the kids and myself at leisure, and hit up the bookstore, which had books for 25 cents and up! I got "Cather in the Rye" and some Anne Rice books. I've never read her books and know these are about vampires, so not sure I will be reading them or keeping them or not, but those were free. So we'll see about that. I also *finally* rented my Jane Eyre book and I'm loving it. In the beginning of the book it had a detailed history of her and her whole family. They all died so very young. Makes me thankful for all the medical stuff we have at our disposal these days! I'm really enjoying the book though, and think I'll add the movie to my Netflix que again so I can watch it a couple more times!
Yesterday I spent from 9-3 shoveling and reorganizing the boys' playroom. It had gotten crazy. I got rid of one garbage bag of misc toys, broken toys and the like. Also bagged up one bag of cars for Mom for her school room, and another small bag of misc toys to take to the gym. The elmo chair is also going to live at the gym now, if they want it. Randall put together the shelving unit I bought at Target and after sweeping and washing the baseboards and moving the rug and train table the other way, I hoisted the shelf up on my arm and carried it in there. He was surprised I did it by myself...I'm like, dude, i'm a beast! ha. I categorized all the toys and put them all in labled canvas or plastic bins and they all fit so nicely. I still have some artwork to make/hang--Pinterest will come to my rescue there, and I need to buy some hooks and bins for the dress-up area for the boys. They love to wear costumes and capes and hats and necklaces all the time, so I'm making them an area to dress up and have fun.
Just a typical day of dress-up in this house. Capes, masks, Mommy's running shoes, winter gloves. Miles told me he was cookie monster this day:)
I go in there and stare at the room now and it makes me so happy. Course they have 2 more train sets on the floor today playing w/ them, but they're ones they hadn't been able to find since they were in the bottom of a huge bin. Here are some before/after pics:
Playroom Before. Just a wimpy 3 drawer cart holding toys. Not easy to open the drawers. And a huge bin full of trains and other junk in the corner next to it....where toys went to die.
Playroom before. The area to the right of the piano was a nightmare.
Playroom AFTER. Same area will now be the dress up area. Got a full-length mirror and am wanting to hang hooks on the wall to hang costumes. I put the 3 drawer cart there for now.
Today we went to the dollar movie at the mall. We met up w/ Katy and her girls and watched the Cat and Dog movie. It was pretty funny. I hope we can go in a couple weeks to watch "Chimpanzee" but not sure if we'll be home or GA then. We came home and ate lunch and played a board game.
So far this summer has been pretty fun. We've done a lot more, and if this weather would clear up, we could do even more, like beach going or a pool afternoon for instance. I've been getting back to my running and trying to run at least 3x a week and no less. Also been going to Body Pump once or twice a week. I've seen a huge diff in my physical fitness since going to that class, and went up for the 2nd time last night on my squat and chest weight.

Me after Body Pump. I can def see a diff! I need to stop taking pics in the car. At least I was watching the road.
It was a really full class last night, and it makes me push harder...me w/ my competitive side. --YES, this is a competition! I've also been looking into some really cool products to start taking from a company called Sun Warrior. They sell raw vegan protein powder and ormus supergreens that are a natural probiotic that make your body alkaline, which fights cancer. I wrote an email asking for samples and got a quick reply about which kind and how many flavors would I like to try? I was super impressed. With my new "diet" of hardly any animal products and upping my workouts and such, some days I'm left feeling overly drained and blah, so am hoping to see a change in my energy levels and add some good stuff in my system. Next on the list is researching vitamins and supplements and getting on a more reg pattern w/ that. But overall, I've been feeling so great and less edgy, moody, and depressed. I'm very thankful that God is continuing to give me the strength to say no to so many foods that have been my downfall for so long. I do hafta say though, I had a 1/2 bag of oreos about a week ago, and they were amazing. hhaa. Hopefully I won't do that very often!!!
At church on Sunday, pastor spoke about forgiveness. It was convicting on so many levels. I've been struggling w/ loving some ppl lately, and even though I didn't hold bitterness or etc against them, it really shone a mirror about my attitude and love for a fellow believer. I can be so judgemental at times--runs deep--so I am really praying to have a heart of love and acceptance of these ppl. Attitude adjustment! I'm also praying for God to bring a new group of good friends into my life this coming year w/ the new home school group we're joining. We met up last Thursday w/ a couple gals and their kids and our kids got along perfectly. It was so refreshing to see our kids play so nice and be helpful to each other while us Moms sat and talked and laughed. I felt like I'd known them for a long time. They were very positive and open towards me, so I'm thinking this HS group will be a good thing for our whole family!!!
Well, better get off here. Kids just woke up. I guess I should think about dinner too...hmm.
