Finally sitting down for the 1st time today. Phew! Got up and went to church to help teach E's kid's class. There were only 13 kids today and they were so sweet. Even though I only see them once a month, I just enjoy them so much. There's so many sweet kids, esp girls;) and I love joking around w/ them. They've been listening so good lately too. And I just found out today that Miles is old enough to move up?! what in the world?? He still seems so young for that.
After that, stopped off for some Taco Smell, then at the 7-11 for some newspapers. Got 4 bc there were 3 inserts today. Time to get back on the coupon bandwagon and see how much $$ I can save. I've decided to just file the inserts by date and do my matchups online and then go back and clip, instead of cutting and putting ALL in my binder, which could take hrs per week. Trying to simplify my life and not "do perfect", which is tripping me up a lot.
I worked yesterday and it was such a nice, peaceful day. 1st Sharon, my amazing regular of 6 yrs, then 3 more. 1 lady prebooked again and was so sweet, so I was grateful. I love my job, and helping ppl feel better. The lady who prebooked has a 19 yr old daughter in a wheelchair, so she is always in a lot of pain from lifting her and etc. She also is a full-time middle school teacher. Incredible what some ppl's lives look like, and you would never think from looking on the outside. I left feeling extremely blessed. I feel honored to be able to work w/ ppl in such an intimate way, and somehow "touch" their life in the process. At least, that's how I see it. Sometimes I even pray for them while I'm working on them:) my little secret-ha.
Left there and went to see Ash. She gave me a huge box of beefsteak tomatoes and a big bag of baby oranges. The oranges are out of this WORLD! I bought some ingredients at the store today to make some fresh salsa. I've never made any, so hope it turns out good. I took some maters to the neighbors too, and will boil/peel/freeze the remaining ones to use for spaghetti sauce or stewed tomatoes in recipes. And got some pie crusts for some mater pie too:) there's a LOT of tomatoes. Prob'ly at least 30 or so. Evan's been sick w/ a bad cough, runny nose, and looking run down, so we've been feeding him the oranges, and even juiced the tangerines that Katy brought over before Christmas, and the next day, he was SO much better. He still has the cough, but was way more chipper and had energy. He just layed around all day Friday:( So I'm really hoping to avoid a doctor visit!!! I need to get him well bc I really need to take them to get vaccinated. I think it's been 2 yrs since I've been. I'm not big on getting them certain vac's before they turn 3, so now I think we'll be good to go. I need to write it down bc I only think about their vac's when they're sick:/ .
Anywho, just did my Wally trip. It was a madhouse there. It's interesting to look in ppl's carts and see what they buy. So much junk. Grant it, I have my fair share, but I rarely see ANY produce, and all they have is processed junk. I'm trying to be hyper-aware of my choices and what we eat as a family this year. No slacking.
Well, gotta clean up the casa so we can get ready for date night tonight. Not sure what we're doing tonight and I'm not feeling too hot.
Later taters.
