Well, this weekend's coming to a close. We took off school on Friday so I could finish things up for the yard sale on Saturday. Randall and Rich (our neighbor) helped a lot, so that was wonderful. We ended up having WAY more stuff than I thought possible from this house and garage. As I got the garage ready, Randall went thru a bunch of his stuff in the garage, and we sorted and organized and I swept as we went. The most wonderful part about the yard sale, is our garage is now CLEAN!!!!! It has been deplorable for a very long time, and now our car can easily park in there, and it looks like about 1/3 of all the stuff is now gone!! Have a smidge of sweeping and vacuuming to do tomorrow and I will call it quits in there.
Biz was a little slow throughout the day, as the weather was "cold" for FL and ppl were being weenies and staying indoors. Mostly older ppl, and none who needed baby things, were our main customers. Sold a lot of kid's stuff and vhs tapes?! and lots of R's manly stuff--engine, tool box, safe, fishing poles. We were giving stuff away...like 50 cents and a dollar on most stuff, yet still managed to sell 170$!!! Even sold my double graco stroller for 40$!! So, I was excited. I'm gonna use some of the $ to transform M's room from "dots" theme to sports theme. Already have his toddler crib bedding, and just need to switch some pics out, add a rug and lamp and maybe some sports-type wall art. The bedding is Circo, which is the same brand as his nursery bedding, so the pesto green wall matches his new sports bedding!! so it'll all work out. It's been fun getting creative again and getting ideas via Target.com, hobbylobby.com and pinterest.com.... Not sure how far the $ will go:) hhaa. I'd love to just turn his crib immediately into a full bed so I can arrange the room how I'll eventually want it to be, but w/out the bed or full bedding, it prob'ly won't happen.
Rambling. Still working w/ Evan on his attitude/talking back issues. Been some rough spots here and there over the weekend, and I'm a little leary going into tomorrow as he watched a TON of TV this weekend due to the yard sale and being bone tired today. So we'll see how it affects his attitude tomorrow. Mom called and had some ideas on discipline, some of which I agreed with, some I didn't really. But she did mention taking away ALL his trains...and that hit a chord. I've taken away certain trains before, but have never put full lockdown on his trains, so if he continues to be out of control, I will do that this week. Prob'ly start small (no trains for 1-2 days), then work my way up to a week. Something has to give. I keep racking my brain as to what's wrong w/ him and what big has changed, and so far have not come up with anything other than he's really tired bc school's getting to be a lot more work and more difficult, and, he's been SICK this week...? so yeah. I know kids go through phases, so I'm hoping this is nothing more than that. So crazy that we go from him never being in trouble, to he's so bad I'm crying daily. Hhhh. I'm gonna do my best to give it over to God and wake up every day giving that day to him. Friday I didn't yell at him at all, and even though I was crying by noon, I felt like I'd done my part by not adding to the madness and screaming at him. It was difficult.
Tomorrow is MLK day, but we'll be going to school, as we missed Friday. Big day tomorrow with like 3 papers alone in #'s. I hope his little brain can do it. I plan on starting at 9, then hitting the gym, then at 6:30 hitting up the new Body Pump class with Tracy. Never been before but the youtube video looked pretty cool. I've been bored w/ the gym/running routine as of late, so I hope it's cool. I might just hafta go once a week if so:) I love to pump some iron, that's fer sure.
Tonight we had a little grill n chill at the house. Cousin Robert came over and hung out and we burned a bunch of the newly taken down Christmas tree in the outdoor firepit and laughed and talked. It was cold so we bundled up the kids and snuggled under blankets. Told R we need to make that outdoor movie screen for the house:) Randall went to the store and got burger and dogs, chips, tater salad and icecream, so we all ate too much. Evan ate 2 dogs, a cheeseburger AND chips. CRAZY! the kid is SOO skinny, yet he eats like a bottomless pit! Built just like his Daddy was at that age!:)
Well, best go. Finishing up "Law Abiding Citizen" on tv. Thankfully, bc they deleted most the rough scenes. This movie is intense.
Well, later. Need to shift from yard sale mode to school/house mode again. I'm still tired from all the late nights.
