1. What did you do in 2011 that you'd never done before? Start homeschooling my son, Evan, and run my 1st Half Marathon!
2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year? I can't remember specifics, but wanted to run a bunch more, so I figure I sorta kept that one:) I always make goals for myself for the New Year!!
3. Did anyone close to you give birth? pretty much everyone I know on FB. And, my cousin Leah:)
4. Did anyone close to you die? I wouldn't say close, but Evan's tee ball coach, from his long real season of tee ball, died in December. He was only 33. Really, really sad. And, Nemo, our beta fish. It was a long, slow, death. :(
5. What trips did you take? several trips to the cabin, 3 beach trips: (Tammy, Mom, me and the boys, and family trip in August), Anniversary weekend w/ my Love to St Auggie, Epcot trip w/ cousin Debbie, and went to see Liz in GA a coupla times:)
6. What would you like to have in 2012 that you lacked in 2011? a bunch of size 10 pants that fit my fat butt!, a consistent quiet time every day.
7. What date from 2011 will remain etched upon your memory, and why? November 27th!!! Ran and finished my 1st 1/2 marathon in 2:31!!! Never felt more alive, exhilirated, and proud of myself in my life!!!
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year? refer to #7, and witnessing my son ask Jesus into his heart!!
9. What was your biggest failure? yelling too much at my kids.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury? nothing much this year!! Praise the LORD! so amazingly grateful for my health! My kids on the other hand...2 head lacerations and 1 nasty scar:(
11. What was the best thing you bought? I didn't really buy it, but Randall got us a "new" vehicle...2002 Ford Explorer. SO much more room. so awesome for traveling!
12. Whose behavior merited celebration? my husband. He was more than understanding w/ all my crazy moods w/ all the changes I went thru this year. Poor guy.

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed? certain ppl...had to end a friendship and distance myself from certain individuals.
14. Where did most of your money go? mortgages, Randall's business, GAS
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about? running my big race:) My son reading his 1st book!

17. Compared to this time last year, are you: happier or sadder? much, much happier. I feel like my life is way more balanced, and in much better health. My priorites are more mature;)
18. What do you wish you'd done more of? read my Bible, and spend more time w/ Mom, Dad, and extended family
19. What do you wish you'd done less of? spend time on FB
20. How did you spend Christmas? Went to church, came home and opened gifts at our house. Mom and Dad came over for the day:)

21. How will you spend New Years? the Barbee clan came down from GA, so the 1st part of the night was spent laughing and carrying on w/ them, til they crashed out early. R and I rang in the New Year alone on the couch watching Dick Clark's New Year's Eve bash on TV:)

22. What was your favorite TV program? tossup between Survivor and Biggest Loser
23. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year? naw. I don't waste my time hating anyone. Dislike? yeah.
24. What was the best book you read? "Unbroken" by Laura Hillenbrand

25. What was your greatest musical discovery? classical music. been years, it seems, since I'd listened to it. Plan on listening to a whole lot more of it this year:) Calms me and moves me.
26. What did you want and got? bigger bookcase, patio, new running shoes and running watch...and, some sweet yard sale finds.

27. What was your favorite film of this year? saw so many I can't remember. The Help was one of my faves. Liked it even better than the book, which rarely happens.
28. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you? went to St Augustine as a family and stayed in a funky cheap beach motel. ha. Love that town. I turned 33.
29. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying? spending more time in the Word and prayer.
31. What kept you sane? running, lifting weights, phone calls to my funny friends, and nights alone at the movies...oh, and READING!

30. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2011? stinky gym rat vs. sophisticated stylista:)
33. What political issue stirred you the most? i'm hoping to learn more about politics in the New Year and hope Jay Leno doesn't see me on the street and ask me questions in the mean time.
34. Who did you miss? all my friends who moved away from me, leaving me here all alone:( and, as always, my Grandma Katy.
35. Who was the best new person you met? Peggy! from Cyberville:)
36. Tell us some valuable life lessons you learned in 2011:
Sometimes you hafta readjust your expectations, and just be honest with yourself ~my race.
I can now understand why Cain killed his brother Able~in regards to my 2 boys:) hhaa.
This year I mainly learned that you hafta take inventory in your close relationships...To be honest about your failures and with God's help to change those. To accept that ppl are all diff and not to expect them to do exactly as I would do. To daily think of all the things I'm thankful for about my husband. To cherish each day with my 2 amazing boys. To always ask "what can I do?" to help someone else out or brighten their day.
