Christmas crafting

Well, this post will be outta order, but ran across these pics and had to post them. The kids were just too cute. For the past 3-4 yrs, the kids have made homemade ornaments for their g'ma's and friends. This year we decided to try our hand at making homemade clay ornaments. They had so much fun rolling out the clay and using old school cookie cutters I'd bought at thrifts and yard sales to cut out their favorite shapes. Then we baked them and painted them a few days later. Evan even wrote his name and "2011" on the backs of all of his. After they painted, I let them put glitter on them. What a blast, and SO much cheaper than buying the premade plaster ones. These cost us not even 50 cents apiece:)! After they were all dry, i tied on red bows and put on a ornament hook to hang on the tree! They were a big hit!
Miles having fun cutting out his ornaments:)

Evan rolled his dough out all by himself.

So serious
I had to help the kids cut around the ornaments to give them a cleaner look. One pkg of the white Sculpey clay made 15 ornaments!! I poked a hole thru each w/ a wooden skewer for the ribbon/hanger.

hard to get a candid of this kid. Evan painting his ornament so beautiful!
Can't get enough of the cheeks and eyelashes in this pic!!! Miles putting on his glitter.
Evan writing his name/date on the back w/ a red Sharpie
All done and ready to dry!! I thought they turned out so beautiful! Looked like a big plate of cookies:)
The finished products w/ ribbons and hooks:)
