Party recap

Sooo, last night was the 1st annual Tacky Christmas Sweater party:)

 It was a really good time, I must say. I spent most the day, after 1pm, decorating and cleaning and sprucing up the place, and making some new brownie things called "black bottoms" and some mater pie. The 1st couple ppl to show weren't nearly as over the top as I was, but alas, Lisa showed up looking all snazzed

 There were 11 of us all together and we started w/ food and voting for the tackiest sweater...although the reveal of that was at the end of the night. We started off w/ the As Seen on TV gift exchange.

There were some great gifts to be had. I got stuck with the pasta bowl--lol. My MIL actually gave it to me last Christmas I think, and had just given it to my mom to try (i'd never even tried it)...but there was a Justin Bieber singing toothbrush, clip-in hair feathers( courtesy of me AND Dang

Dang showed up looking like her usually knockout sexy self. She is the tiniest and most
beautiful 40 yr old woman I know. She was a riot, and nearly killed herself falling
off the slide at the park. lol.

With all our As Seen on TV goods. hhaa

 and the like. It was pretty funny. No pajama jeans or Magic Bullet for me. Then we broke into 2 teams and went on our scavenger hunt around town. We went to the park 1st, then to Dollar General and then to various and assundry ppl's yards to finish up. We all had a 1 hr time limit to get it all done. We got all 14 items checked off our list, and the other team checked off 13, but we still tied. TOO funny. That was my favorite part of the night.

In the end, Samantha took home 1st prize and Lisa got 2nd place. I awarded Aimee w/ 3rd place.

Their outfits were the most over-the-top:) Samantha had added 2 green jingle "balls" to her Christmas horse sweatshirt and tinsel armpit hair, and Lisa looked straight outta the 70's. Aimee looked like a crazy elf.

My getup for the night:) Napoleon Dynamite wig/glasses(yard sale), Mom jeans, turtleneck
and vest, loafers (that i bedazzled) and gawdy pins and broach(thrift), mistletoe headband
and rudolph earrings (Claire's).  I'm so glad there's been evolution in the denim industry in the
last ten years.  SO much fun!!!! It was a blast finding it all and putting it all together.
Notice my vest is covered in presents...Peek-a-boo presents that opened up and had
ornaments and such behind each one. lmbo.

 Overall, I think the party was a success. There were quite a few ppl missing, so some of the laugh factor was gone, but we still managed to nearly pee ourselves a couple times. Hhhaaa.

Today we had a really relaxing day yard saling. We got some cool stuff!!! At one stop alone, we scored a nice black table lamp, flatscreen wall mount, indoor electric fireplace, TV w/ dvd player set, desk, and 2 16x20 barnwood frames for 45$! CRAZY! Came home and plugged in the fireplace. It works perfectly and even has diff heat and flame settings. It actually heats!!! It's so cute. Sorta on the smallish side, but I hooped it up w/ some greenery, a Christmas pic of the boys and my old faithful gold guilded Christmas deer. Makes it feel so homey w/ the "fire" going:) Randall made fun of it endlessly, but he's all but told me how awesome it is. He and the boys even read books in front of it before they went to bed tonight:)) so funny.

Watched The Notebook tonight while putting the 7 or so bananas from the freezer to good use and made 2 small and 1 large loaf of banana bread. Just had enough cauliflower to make them:) The house smells amazing. It's so nice having the house clean and actually feeling relaxed for once in a very long time. I was going to go for a run tonight, but R was gone w/ E to get the desk from the yard sale and I fell asleep on the couch for a bit too long. Can't remember when I actually got a nap.

Well, nighto. I'm tired.
