Wow, this week's gone by in a blur. After Randall got back from the cabin, I left for GA to see Liz and her clan for a day and 1/2 with Evan and Lucy. R decided to keep M with him, and that was fine with me. I knew E would wanna see his little girl friends, so thought it was the best choice of kids to take. The kids had a ball together and played and played. E was whooped when we left bc he's not used to keeping up w/ girls:) Liz and I had a ball together...visiting w/ her 81 yr old friend Mrs. Dorothy Taylor (riot!), soaking/boiling in the hot as a mother hot tub, shopping at French Market, and eating at a local lunch place!! Just not enough time for me. With Liz's new work schedule and all the junk I have going on, I had to just pick a day when we both had (almost) 2 days off in a row. I'm so glad I went though. I miss her so.
Came home and did school on Friday, then took the boys to the Dunnellon library to see Santa Claus:) He was the real Santa, no kidding. He read the children "Twas the night before Christmas" and E was his helper, bc Santa couldn't turn his pages w/ his gloves on:) E did a great job and they were both sweet boys. They got to sit on Santa's lap and tell them what they really wanted for Christmas: M: Diesel 10, and E: Lightning McQueen....hadn't heard either of those requests before, so I hope Santa comes thru for us;) hhaa. It was so funny. I'll hafta post some pics later.
Then came home and cleaned up the house a bit before Debbie came in. She was on her way thru to see Sugar Ray in Otown, so spent the night w/ us:) She and I got right to cookie baking and headed to one of my friend's house for a cookie and ornament exchange:) good times and good food.
Had to work today but only had 1, my old faithful client:) Love her. She not only tipped me but gave me my Christmas tip too--100 smackers. gosh, so generous. R even mentioned me buying a new pr of running shoes, which was incredible bc mine are only a month old, but prob'ly not the correct shoes....think I'll get some clothes for myself instead. the closet is looking bare these days, esp in the area of shirts. egad!
Left work and went around Robin Hood's barn to finally get to the Christmas parade parking in Inverness. Parked about 1/4 mile away and met up w/ my boys, who'd just gotten fresh hair cuts:) They looked so sweet. We watched the middle of the Jingle Bell 5k and saw Smiling Suzy wearing her Santa's elf costume!! of course I screamed her name and cheered her on. She laughed and smiled and looked so excited to see me. I just love that woman. She goes to my church and I would like to get to know her more this year. Also saw another friend, running her 1st 5k. Her church has started a running club and I thought that was really neat. Maybe me and Suzy need to get that going;) Was weird to be on the sidelines, but w/ work and my now missing 1 and 1/2 toenails, might be good to wait til Jan to get back in the swing. Would love to train for a 15k in March, but we shall see.
Well, time for bed. Spent way too much time preparing for E's sunday school class tomorrow. I teach every 2nd Sunday, and this week's lesson is "The importance of Giving". Took me forever to find a good lesson and craft, so it took longer than usual. Finally found the website I usually use and came up w/ some cute stuff. Doing the story of the widow's mite and discussing Christmas and how we can give to others with a cheerful heart:) I hope it goes well.
Must sleep. So exhausted lately. I hope I'm not pregnant w/ another December baby. hhaaa. I would rather get pregger in the Spring if i have a choice in the matter:)
night-o!
