Oh Christmas Tree!

Well, we FINALLY got the tree decorated. After putting it up Thursday night it only took 2 days:) M didn't help me much, which was surprising , but Evan helped me almost the whole time, even using the step stool to reach the higher branches. It looks a little crazed, but beautiful nontheless, esp after hanging all the glitter snowflakes and new glitter bulbs. Got a whole new set of 18 bulbs--green, red and sparkly gold--at Home Depot for $2.50, leftovers from the blk friday sale:) We opted for a skinnier tree this year and not sure I'm quite sold on it. I must be pms'ing or something, or maybe bc Randall isn't here, but didn't seem quite so magical for me this year, decorating it all. I feel bad about that, bc I love Christmas. I think I'm just so tired and the house is a mess and it's like "check THAT off the to-do list"...lol. But I'm sitting here looking at it and it does make me happy:). Can't wait to see it tonight when the lights are more dim, and bask in its beauty. Hung my big wreath on the door too, and lit it up for the 1st time last night. Me and the boys stopped and looked at a bunch of Christmas lights on the way home from Wally last night. Ppl are really going crazy with them this year it seems:). I'd love to go buckwild w/ the lights one year, but will just hafta settle for my white icicle lights and red lit wreath this year.

Well, I need to go do dishes. There's a million. prob'ly at least 2 loads worth. ..sigh. Then gotta shower and get me and the kids ready for the singing Christmas tree. Tina invited us to go. It's at 1st Baptist CR, so that should be fun. Hope the kids do okay. M is taking a nap so he isn't too crazed.

Hit up some great yard sales this morning and got a bunch of stuff for $34. Some vintage Christmas ornaments, bunch of snowman ornaments, "In Cold Blood" book, collection of 70's Christmas cookie cutters, bunch of clothes for Evan: coat, fleece jacket, 2 prs levi's shorts, 1 pr gap and gap camo pants, Napoleon Dynamite wig/glasses/moon boots!!!!, 2 cd's, necklace, foam letter stickers, 2 pr shoes for Laurie...the list goes on. Those are the only things I can remember:) The boys sat in the car watching Thomas so was able to shop in peace. Found a gorgeous pr of cowboy boots I wanted but they were a men's size 9 so passed. Plus they wanted 50 bucks...but they were made outta sea turtle?! ugh. I tried buying his deer mount in his garage but he wouldn't go for it. I think his wife woulda jumped at the chance. hhhaa.

Well, best get to it. I'd rather just sit here and be lazy all day, but we have no utensils or plates to eat off of, and just ran outta paper plates. blast it all to heck!
