Just finished addressing and stuffing all the cards! PHEW! So glad that is done. I hate that they are going out late, but got New Year's cards instead, so now I feel a little on time:) They turned out SO great. Couldn't believe when I put in "cheap photo cards" that Walgreens came up and that they had BOGO going on! So was able to get bigger cards for the price of Walmart cards:) made me happy! I only sent out 40 this year, compared to my usual 75, so I was proud of myself. I wanted to cut down anyhow, so just ordered the 40 cards and got tough w/ my list:) I felt bad about a few not getting them, but will post our pic and tag those on FB that didn't get one.
I will hafta recap Christmas along w/ pics and funny things that went down later. Just don't have the time or energy tonight. Still haven't planned school. E and I took a nap today in my bed (hey, I was desperate for a nap, so i do what i do!), so I'm not really all that tired right now at 1:04 am! geeze! Maybe I'll go plan just one day. Mom is coming over one day this week, I'm meeting up for dinner/movie with Emily, and then Liz and the girls roll in for New Year's on Saturday!!! BUSY week! My house looks like a bomb too! Spent most the day revising my Christmas letter...always feels too long-winded for me, but what can i say? Then somehow deleted the whole thing. So had to rewrite it and save it after every paragraph. What a headache. But I just couldn't do w/out the letter. Only once in 8 yrs of marriage have I skipped the letter and that was after M was born. ha.
The boys were so sweet and nice today. I was in such a great mood myself so I know that must've helped somehow. I plan on working a lot on the not yelling/reacting to the kids this new year for sure. They played trains all morning. With 4 diff tracks going on now, they have to try harder to be in each other's way to fight:) one scuffle broke out so I set the timer and the fighting was over:) Gotta love the timer!
Been thinking about my New Year's resolutions this year. I always like to make at least 2-3 real goals to work towards in the coming year. I've managed to really keep up with them the last couple years. I'm kicking these around...:
1) Lose 10 lbs! (by going to the gym no less than 3x a week w/ 3 runs and weight training in there)
2) Start cooking ahead/freezing food to make mealtime easier and faster. (got new cookbook to help w/ that! excited about this one!)
3)wash my face every night before bed. (I can't believe I am still putting this on my list. After looking in the mirror every AM you'd think I'd know better by now!)
I also would like to work towards setting a new 5k PR, but that's not really a resolution. I think losing the weight will help with that. I'd love to set it at the colon cancer 5k in March, but we'll see how that plays out.
Better call it a night. Starting to get hungry again. I think this is why Taco Bell calls it "Fourth Meal"....a #7 sounds SO good right now! hhaa.
